As part of Xcel's Fire Mitigation Plan, they are needing to upgrade, swap, or alter power poles throughout town. They will give us advance notice so that we in turn can inform you. This one should be completed by the end of the week. Work is occurring in the area of E 2nd St & Fisher Ave. Times of construction are between 830am & 330pm. If it necessitates a closure, the closure will only be around 10 minutes. Not all work requires closures. Please allow extra time, and we will keep you posted as they progress around town. The Town of Parachute is offering a grant of up to $5,000 for the purpose of contributing to the improved physical appearance of the Town. To be eligible for the grant, the applicant must own and / or operate a licensed business within the program boundaries with grant award priority going to main business districts of the Town (see attached map). The application process will open on March 24, 2025. The application must be submitted to the Town of Parachute (email to vtomasulo@parachute.gov or deliver to Town Hall) for first review by 9 am MT Monday, April 28, 2025. The first completeness review will take place administratively by town staff followed by staff recommendation to the Parachute Renewal Authority Commission for final approval. Planning Commission Gets a Fresh New Look!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Chicago, Illinois)—Government Finance Officers Association is pleased to announce that Town of Parachute, Colorado received GFOA's Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its budget. The award represents a significant achievement by the entity. It reflects the commitment of the governing body and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. In order to receive the budget award, the entity had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. These guidelines are designed to assess how well an entity's budget serves as: - a policy document  -a financial plan  -an operations guide  -a communications device Budget documents must be rated "proficient" in all four categories, and in the fourteen mandatory criteria within those categories, to receive the award. There are over 1,700 participants in the Budget Awards Program. The most recent Budget Award recipients, along with their corresponding budget documents, are posted quarterly on GFOA's website. Community Service Officer (CSO) is a civilian position that promotes community goals of beautification and safety by performing a variety of routine and complex work in the interpretation, proactive education, and enforcement of the Parachute Municipal Codes to detect, investigate and correct nuisances and code violations in the town. The CSO serves as a resource on Town code regulations and requirements to the community, residents, contractors, property owners, businesses, stakeholders, and other Town departments and staff. Welcome aboard Alyshia! ~~~~~~ ¡Ayúdenos a darle una cálida bienvenida al equipo a nuestra nueva Oficial de Servicio Comunitario, Alyshia Sauer!
