Town of Parachute Requests Letters of Interest for Upcoming Council Vacancy   PARACHUTE, CO – On May 15, 2025, at a regular Town Council meeting, the Town announced that a vacancy would soon occur on the Council, as defined in Section 2-6(a) of the Town Code. A Council seat becomes vacant upon a Councilmember’s death, incapacitation, resignation, relocation outside of Town limits, or conviction of a felony or a misdemeanor involving abuse of public office.  In accordance with Town Code, because the vacancy will occur more than 180 days before the next regular municipal election, the Town Council is required to publicly solicit applications from eligible residents to fill the seat.  Eligibility Requirements To qualify for appointment to the Parachute Town Council, applicants must:      Be a qualified elector of the Town of Parachute;    Have resided within the Town limits for at least 12 consecutive months prior to appointment;    Maintain residency within the Town for the duration of the term;    Not be employed by the Town, or apply for Town employment, while serving on Council.  Application Deadline and Review Timeline      Please submit a letter of interest and resume no later than Monday, June 30, 2025.
